Goncolo Alves Acoustic Guitar Back and Side Set

This Acoustic Guitar back and side set is resawn and bookmatched from the best Grade of Goncolo Alves (Tigerwood). It has very striking contrast with dark streaks on a carmel color and various patches of curly figure. Its tonal properties are considered to be similar to Mahogany. Its supply was once scarce which is why it hasn’t been as common for instruments before. It is starting to become more available and is being used on some of the finest classical Guitars available. Builders are now using it for Acoustic Guitars with great results and all seem to give positive feedback about its tonal characteristics. It has been carefully selected for vertical grain and little run out, making it ideal for Guitar making. It is surfaced clean to 0.14” so you can do final sanding to your own thickness for the sides. The back is two bookmatched pieces at least 8.5” wide and 22” long The sides are two bookmatched pieces at least 5” wide and 32” long
